Mission:

Our mission is to provide system support for Personnel Services, the payroll section of the Controller's office, and the Banner HR system while providing any modifications and additional programming needed to support the HR needs of the University.

What We Do:

Human Resource systems support Virginia Tech's efforts in recruiting, hiring, and retaining the best candidates for meeting the university's mission and goals. Moreover, HR systems accommodate unique policies and procedures, helping the university to serve its most important resources, people. Finally, the Human Resources System enables the university to process applicants; manage personnel, benefits, and positions; monitor compensation, labor relations, and health and safety; administer budgets; and process payroll.

Since the implementation of SCT's Banner2000®, HRIS has worked to accomplish three primary goals:

1. To provide more information to personnel for making managerial decisions.
2. To reduce paper circulation throughout administration.
3. To migrate from a payroll system to a personnel system.

Through the implementation of SCT's Banner2000®, Human Resource systems enable personnel throughout the university to access information utilizing a more efficient system of modules. Banner2000® modules implemented at Virginia Tech currently include:
