Mission:

The Banner Finance Team, part of Application Information Systems (AIS) at Virginia Tech, exists to provide information systems management, support, maintenance, and modification services to the university offices served by Banner Finance and Accounts Receivable Systems.

What We Do:

The Banner Finance Team serves two areas: Banner Finance and Banner Accounts Receivable. Banner Finance went live in July 1998 and Banner Accounts Receivable followed in May 2000. Since that time, the Banner Finance Team has served as support for both systems. Some of the systems supported are:

• General Accounting
• Accounts Payable
• Purchasing
• Fixed Assets and Inventory Control
• Student Accounts
• Sponsored Programs
• Tuition Remission for the Graduate School
• Accounts Receivable
• Cash Receipts
• Payment Gateway

In addition to the initial implementation, the team monitors the overall performance of the system. Additionally, the team works with users in developing custom reports, creating add-on systems to interface with Banner, and modifying existing forms to enhance the functionality of Banner.

Recently the team has taken on the responsibility for developing e-Commerce Solutions for the university.
